reviewsBEFM 10th Anniversary Sing Jacksonville NC November 2007 The annual Anniversary concert was delayed this year because of Biney’s surgery. This concert is always special for me because I get to see the English family and hear their great voices. Every member of that family can sing. Adoration sang a number of songs ending with Jessica with her outstanding strong voice singing as only she can sing. Then Biney, Beverly and Tammy came on stage and sang as only they can sing. What a tremendous voice Tammy has. Biney had a little trouble singing at first because he hadn’t sang in 4 months. However, his voice was strong and sounded great to me. It was a special concert also because it was a tribute to Aunt Linda who had recently died. Everyone was happy to see her daughter Kimberly there that night. She later sang with Biney and Michael, which was very touching. Sean was his usual polite little southern gentleman and sang a song by himself. Biney and the family ended with “Until I Fly” which I really liked. They sang other songs which were wonderful; my memory just is in stalled mode. Biney sang “Better Man Than Me” which is also a very touching song. Biney talked a lot about his aunt and the loss they were all feeling and Tammy gave her testimony. Michael came on last and brought Bella up to sing a song. She chose, “Jesus Loves Me” which was real cute. Michael sang a number of songs also which were great. He also talked about Aunt Linda and also his family and Kimberly. He sang a song that he sang at his aunt’s funeral. Biney, Michael and Kim sang a song together in tribute to their aunt/mom. The concert ended with Biney and Michael singing, “He Never Gave Up.” The concert was emotional as they always are. It was great to see Biney singing again and to see how the family had really pulled together to get over this difficult time and loss in their life. I know that I have not listed the songs that were sung but I just don’t remember all of them…but take my word for it they were all wonderful. Maybe I will do better next time. Thanks to all the English family for a memorable concert. Connie Siders BEFM 9th Anniversary Sing Penderlea High School, Penderlea NC October 14, 2006 Last weekend, I was blessed to be present at the 9th anniversary concert in Wallace, N. C. Every time that I attend this concert, I am amazed at the talent of Biney and his family. From little Shawn to the others that make up the BEFM. You can see and experience the love each one has for the other. The singing is the best…including Tammy who is the newest member. What a voice she has for such a little lady. I never can remember the songs that were sung when the concert is over. I do remember Biney singing “A Better Man Than Me” to Shawn. However, I do not know how anyone could be a better man than Biney. Even with his MS, he manages to trudge on. And I am sure many days that is just what he has to do. Beverly sang a solo which I can’t remember the title. She was fantastic. Shawn also sang a solo. What a sweetie he is. He certainly is a little southern gentleman. He is really good with his cousin, Bella. The Singing Samaritans which consisted of Biney’s fathers old group only got to sing a couple of songs because of time. They can still belt out those old songs. Biney sang a new song, which I think, is called, “Until I Fly”. This may not be the title but it was a new song and very powerful. Biney also sang “He Never Gave Up” with Michael. Sunday there was another concert at the Potter’s House. It was a very emotional service. There was an altar call at which time everyone came forward to pray for those in need. It was one of the most powerful services I have ever attended. It was also fun to visit with Biney’s family, his mother and aunt and Michael and his family. We also made a quick trip to Aubine’s store. It was a concert that kept you thinking long after we left the church. Thanks Biney and Beverly. Connie NOTE: Thanks, Connie, for the great photos. Victory Baptist Church Durham NC May 28, 2006 Hello Biney, We want to let you know that we really enjoyed having you'll with us at Victory Baptist Church in Durham, Sunday Morning, May 28th, 2006. Your group is GREAT. You are just as good as when you were the Singing Samaritan's, so many years ago. Also, we have had Tami with us since she was a child, and have watched her become a grown woman. Her voice is just out of this world. We were so glad to get to meet your wife and son. The song that you sang to your son was beautiful. I know that you are blessed to have Greg with your group. He does so much, handling the sound system, the driving, loading and unloading and all the many more things that he does for you. The Spirit of the Lord was present in our Service. Our entire congregation enjoyed having you'll with us, and we do plan on having you'll again. We will be praying for your health situation and you'll pray for us. We Love All Of You, Rev. John and DeLaine Rigsbee REVIVAL SERVICE Biney, I Thank you and your family for such a WONDERFUL REVIVAL SERVICE at Unity United Methodist Church in Warsaw (Oct. 9-12, 2005)! Biney English Family Ministries Eighth Anniversary Sing The afternoon started out wet and rainy. But just as we prayed for the Lord allowed the rain to stop and the roads to dry enough for people to travel. By 5:30 the school started to fill up quickly. The audience loved Adoration with both their great sense of humor and their southern style of "just plain old southern gospel music." Brian sang one of the songs that he does his best and one of my favorites "O, Holy Night." Brian, no one can do it like you. You missed a blessing in that alone. Jessica came out to join the family. She sang a few with dad as well. Her talent never ceases to amaze me. Biney sang his song "Better Man" to his son Sean. That song touches my heart every time I see Biney sing it to Sean. Sean has made his debut as he sang his one song with dad "I'm gonna See Jesus." Quite the little professional he was. Tami, the new singer in Bineys group, proved the fact that dynamite really does come in small packages as she showed off what her voice really can do. Mario played a solo on the keyboard in "his style" I should say. The crowd really enjoyed that. (Watch out Mario, I think I hear a few young girls talking about starting a fan club there.) Michael sang, introduced his family, and sang with Biney, then the Samaritans came out and all were together again. Added with the family being together, humor from everyone on stage, and a night of good ole southern gospel music, the night could not have gone any better. But we want to remember that in the midst of all the fun, laughter and song that God was right in the middle. And it was certainly one of the times that proved that with God in control you really can have a great time. Biney and Beverly, I love you, I'm glad that the concert went well for you. Love you guys, Debbie (Ward)
Saturday, Oct. 8th, 2005 The auditorium atWwallace-Rose Hill High School (where Biney and Michael went) was overflowing with anxious friends, family and southern gospel lovers! After more than 4 hours, they went home happy but wanting more. It was damp and cloudy but sunny inside!! First up, was a young male quartet, whose name escapes me, who did a great job singing southern gospel. They were well received. Next was Adoration with Terry Carter. As always they were great and had the crowd on their feet for more. Biney English Family Ministries came out and sang. They have a new singer, Tami, who did a great job. She can really hit the notes. Jessica sang one song with the family. Sean was intoduced and sang more than I've ever seen him do!! He even sang a verse alone. Mario played a keyboard solo to a standing ovation. Many were blessed by Biney's testimony--as usual! Biney's brother Michael came and sang a couple songs, said he was glad to be back where he got his start with his family. Biney English Family Ministries joined him for "He Never Gave Up" followed by intermission. After intermission, came what many were waiting on--the “2nd Singing Samaritan's Reunion”!! It was much more informal than the first one. They ad-libbed, sang same lines twice, took requests and we all had a wonderful time!! Terry said "we only rehearsed once"--Michael popped up with "we rehearsed a lot 3 years ago!" Near the end, Aubine said "I haven't been able to dress you boys yet--so I guess we'll join you!" He and Terry took off their jackets and ties and pulled their shirts out! Then, as the crowd was roaring with approval, Michael started tucking his in! Jessica joined Michael on stage for a final song with Uncle Mike, "Had It Not Been", and Biney closed with prayer. It was an uplifting and joyous night! Biney asked if they wanted to do it again and the answer was a resounding, "yes! People left still wanting more and were at the tables almost an hour. Blessings to all,
Biney English Family Ministries Seventh Anniversary Sing Biney English Family Ministries Seventh Anniversary Sing was the place to be Saturday night November 20. Janice and Josh Horrell opened up with 13-year-old Josh singing his little heart out. Adoration came and gave a outstanding service in song with the touch of great southern gospel music as only they can do. The TASC Drama team then gave a performance of skits through song. It is just touches my heart to see kids of a young age willing in some way whether it be song or drama to take a stand for Christ. They were great! Biney, Beverly and Jessica then finished out the night. Jessica sang a new praise song and believe me folks it was POWERFUL!!!!! She sang that song with such power. You could tell by the strength of her voice that she was not only singing that song as a witnessing tool to the people you could see it was coming straight from her heart, it was her personal praise and her own personal prayer to GOD. Jessica did a great job by the way. Biney sang his song "Better Man" to his little boy Sean. It was very touching to see Biney sing this song to his son. You can tell by looking at them that even though Sean is little he has a close and great relationship with his "DADDY". Beverly gave her personal testimony on how to trust in God. Beverly is so stong in the Lord and her faith is so strong. She is just a AMAZING person that our family loves very much. As I looked around the church that night I noticed that EVERYONE there was praising God in some w Biney then gave a altar call and prayed for the ones that were hurting or needed help in some way. I know that with every concert I have been to with Biney and his family, (and there have been a lot) people let me tell you GOD ALWAYS SHOWS UP! If you have never felt God or his presence, if you have a prayer need, or if you just want to feel loved, not only will the English Family assure you of God's love, you can actually feel his love right there with you, wrapping his arms around you and telling you to trust him it is going to be alright. And if something has to come to an end, which the concert did, to me that is the best way to go, With God going with you as well, and having peace in your life. As people left that night I heard many say what a blessing it had been to them and how much they enjoyed the concert. I can't wait until next year to do it again. Biney, Beverly and Jessica I love you and can't imagine my life without you guys in it. I hope you know by now what a blessing you are to me and my family. Love to all. Debbie Ward
Revival
October 10-13, 2004 We have just had BEFM lead revival services in our church and we have experienced genuine positive change as a result. Most "Revivals" are a series of meetings held by a church once or twice a year which accomplish little and are forgotten soon after they end. There was a definite difference, however, in the mood and spirit of our church the Sunday following revival. This was only the second time Biney & co. had been responsible for the entire program - music and message - but that was not evident from the services. Each service seemed to have a flow which is not often the case when an evangelist comes to preach and others do the music. Each night's theme seemed to transition smoothly to the next night, but each night also was better than the one before. As a result, the people were more spiritually in sync with the total theme presented in sermon and song. The music, of course, was uplifting and beautiful as always when Biney and Family sings, but Biney and Mario also brought messages that were powerful and practical. Acquiring Mario was definitely of God. His keyboard playing is awesome and it is evident he loves Jesus with all his heart. I was told by many church members afterward that they believed it was God's will to have Biney, Beverly, Jessica, and Mario lead our revival. I believe that also, and recommend other churches prayerfully consider doing the same. Concert in Laurinburg, NC April 4, 2004 Whenever you are lucky enough to attend a concert with both of the English brothers…it will be nothing short of wonderful. In fact, it is difficult to even begin. A group of teenagers from the University opened the concert with an awesome precision performance of the life of Jesus. They set the tone for the whole evening. It was hard to believe that anything could be better than they were. However, when you team Biney and Michael along with the English family, you can expect nothing short of fantastic. The Biney English family opened first. They all were in great form. Biney sang a song to Beverly and gave a very touching testimony as to how important she was in his life. As if that wasn’t touching enough, he also sang a song to Sean. The song he sang to Sean was, “A Better Man than Me”, which Biney wrote. Jessica…wow, what a voice she has, sang a new song that she had just learned…and, I cannot think of the name of it. Maybe someone can help me out. Biney introduced all the children, which was very special. May I add that the children are precious. He injected some humor when he returned Madison to his aunt and pretended to drop her. Aunt Linda, however, did not think it was funny. Biney gave his testimony which touched every emotion. The family sounded great…as usual. I am sorry that I cannot remember the names of the songs…I guess I was just too busy listening. Michael followed Biney’s family and what an act to have to follow. I would not have wanted to follow the performance that they gave. He sang with Jessica and with Biney. Wow, what a blessing we all received. Michael also gave his testimony. Biney and Michael sang, “He Never Gave Up” together. It was fantastic. Biney came back and invited those present to come to the front of the room. (Altar call) The emotions in the room were almost too much to describe. Although I don’t seem to remember the titles of the songs sung…I do remember the feeling that all of us left with. A feeling that God was truly present that night. Thank you Biney, your family and Michael for a wonderful way to begin Holy Week. Connie Siders

Alexis more photos of concert provided by NeldaSaturday, August 16, 2003 Anticipation was in the air at the auditorium in Penderlea, the site of BEFM 6th Anniversary Singing. The evening transcended just a good singing and became a worship service. The vast audience and performers in one accord lifted up the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Rev. Vince Moore, the emcee for the evening, brought on the first group, the Yeshuwa Temple praise team, that set the tone for worship with jubilant praise. The evening continued as the Ministers Quartet, consisting of Kyle Taylor, Steve Adams, Charles Surratt, and Avon Craven, along with their musicians, Joe Ray, Rolando Castrejon and Blake Hatcher, took the stage with excitement and declared the goodness of God in song. As the night progressed, Adoration, consisting of Terry Carter, Brian Routh, Kirk Henry, Chris Serlick and Duane West, keyboardist, came to the stage greatly anointed, and sang and blessed the people until they no longer could be seated and began to stand and worship.Next, a special treat as the Northeast Drama Team, a group of young people from the area, led us in worship with a dynamic drama presentation. After a brief intermission and a time of fellowship, the evening continued with the group, Mercy's Way, consisting of Danny Funderburk, Jason Funderburk, Stan Shuman, and Harold Gilley. Their harmony and music were great but their spirit of worship once again made us focus on the Lord Jesus Christ. One of the highlights of the evening was Harold Gilley, bass singer for Mercy's Way, who imitated the great bass singers of yesteryear. The audience really enjoyed the trip down memory lane. Just when you think it cannot get any better....Biney English Family Ministries took the stage and not only were their vocals great, music superior, but the anointing began to flow and minister to the people. The solo that Jessica sang brought the audience to a new level of awareness of the presence of the Lord. A new song that Biney had written "Free to Fly" was included in the program and was met with enthusiastic praises and hallelujahs. At the end of the night, Biney and family had all the performers come onstage. Biney's father, Aubine, sang "Because He Lives" and Danny Funderburk, Harold Gilley, and Biney harmonized with him. Everyone on stage then sang "Bowed on My Knees." The air was saturated with the presence of God as Biney gave an altar call. Many came forward as Beverly and BEFM sang "There Is Hope." At the conclusion of the service many became aware of a new hope, faith revitalized and found themselves sitting in Heavenly Places. was a wonderful--if veeeery hot--night of ministry thru music and word.
Sponsored by The Father's House of LaVergne, TN, it was an outdoor event
attended by more than 700 people! The opening act was the praise team from
The Father's House. They were a lively group of all ages. Even after a long, hot evening, Biney and Michael stayed around for photos, signings and words of encouragement. Many, many people were blessed by the English brothers--including me. Nelda Wilson A pril 30, 2003If you have never been to a Biney English Family Ministry Concert I urge you to go. I have been to a lot of Biney's concerts and I have not yet been to one where you did not feel the presence of God when you were there. I have had the pleasure of working with Biney and his family on numerous occasions and I would like to say that it is a pleasure to work with someone that is truly "genuine." No matter what the crisis as we all know we all have, Biney just flows with it and says, "Pray about it and leave it to God." You can be in a room 5 minutes with Biney and see the love of God all in him. Beverly is an amazing person I love talking with her. She always offers words of encouragement when needed, a hug whether you need it or not, and is there to pray with you if you need someone to pray with you. Biney's daughter Jessica as you will soon find out has an amazing voice that is going to take her far. She is a joy to be around - she is always smiling, and wanting to tell whoever she meets of what God has done for her. If you have any doubts about God's "miracle business," please take a minute to listen to her testimony about the miracle of her baby. Or ask her about it. She will be more than happy to share that amazing story with you. Biney still yet has a miracle of his own that he shares of his own medical situation and how he has the strength to go on. So the English family has had a lot of trials that they have gone through and they are standing strong, believing in God, and still singing about how you should never give up on God, and stand strong. They are an example of how we all should be when things get tough. And through it all, and with every concert the first priority of Biney, Beverly and Jessica is that they can minister to people through their songs and win souls to Christ. Biney, Beverly, and Jessica, I love you and I love working with you. You are what a ministry is all about. Debbie Ward A ugust 17, 2002The Biney English Family Ministries Fifth Anniversary Singing and The First Reunion of the Singing Samaritans I’m a huge fan of the English family both on and off stage so I knew I would be in for a special blessing, but I had no idea how large the blessing would be. We laughed and clapped and rejoiced and just thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening from the Praise Team to Adoration (Terry Carter, Ricky Wilhide, and Brian Routh, all formerly with The Anchormen), Biney English Family Ministries (Biney and Beverly English and Jessica English Whitley), Michael English, Biney, Michael and Jessica, and after the break the First Reunion of the Singing Samaritans (of which I pray there will be many more). The family praise team sang several beautiful praise and worship songs. Then Adoration sang some good old southern gospel harmony. Although Biney was the host for the evening, Terry Carter certainly did his share. His outgoing personality kept everything upbeat and moving along. Biney English Family Ministries sang several songs, and then Biney introduced Michael and he sang a couple songs and invited Jessica to sing a duet with him on "Had It Not Been." The brothers took turns throughout the evening and sang some together ("He Never Gave Up," "John the Revelator"). One of the high points of the evening was when Jessica sang "America" with a standing ovation. There was a short break and then the announcement of the First Reunion of the Singing Samaritans which, quite frankly, was the highlight of the evening. Aubine, sang bass for most of the songs, Terry Carter, baritone, Biney, lead, and Michael, tenor. Biney did sing bass on one song (as a teenager for those of you who don’t know, he always sang the bass). The harmony was great, their enjoyment was contagious and the response was overwhelming with many, many standing ovations and cheers (and some whistles from the California section). The group sang many old favorites like "Hallelujah Square" and "Over the Next Hill." The music was inspiring and fun and absolutely beautiful. The joy of the Lord was evident on every face that appeared onstage. At the end the singers were joined by Biney and Beverly’s son Sean, Jessica’s daughter Alexis, Terry’s wife Karen, Grace English and Marcie, Michael’s wife-to-be. As everyone held hands on stage and in the audience, Biney prayed a beautiful prayer. No one wanted the evening to end, but after almost three hours, those onstage were ready to go home. Thank you, Aubine and Grace, for your sons and the talents they inherited and their love of the Lord and of music! Pat Stevenson |
